Chronaya Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 28, 2026 • Last updated: July 8, 2026

Chronaya (“Chronaya,” the “App”) is provided by ABK Works (“Developer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Chronaya. Chronaya is a local-first deadline tracker. It does not require a Chronaya account and does not use Developer-operated cloud storage to store or synchronize your deadline records or attachments.

1. Privacy at a Glance

  • No Chronaya account or membership registration is required.
  • Deadline records are stored in a local SQLite database on your device.
  • Settings, notification metadata, and Lifetime Pro entitlement cache are stored locally on your device.
  • Supported image and PDF attachments you select are copied into App-controlled local storage where supported.
  • Chronaya does not upload your deadline records or attachments to Developer-operated servers.
  • Chronaya does not contain advertising.
  • Chronaya does not use behavioral analytics, cross-app tracking, or third-party crash-reporting services.
  • Deadline reminders are scheduled locally through your device’s operating system.
  • Lifetime Pro is a one-time Google Play purchase and is not an automatically renewing subscription.
  • Information leaves Chronaya only when necessary for a feature you deliberately use, such as purchasing or restoring Lifetime Pro through Google Play, exporting or sharing a backup, opening an external link, or contacting support.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

Depending on how you use Chronaya, the App stores the following types of information locally on your device:

  • record titles, categories, descriptions, notes, and dates;
  • warranty, return, subscription, document, insurance, vehicle inspection, and other deadline information;
  • purchase prices, recurring prices, currencies, billing frequencies, renewal dates, and related values you enter;
  • reminder offsets, notification times, and local notification identifiers;
  • supported image and PDF attachments you select, such as photos, receipts, invoices, and screenshots;
  • archived-record status and record history;
  • user-confirmed subscription cancellations and avoided-payment information used to calculate savings summaries;
  • App preferences, including language, appearance, date format, default currency, onboarding status, and notification settings; and
  • locally cached information used to determine whether Free or Lifetime Pro features are available.

Deadline records are stored in Chronaya’s local SQLite database. App preferences, notification identifiers, notification schedules, and entitlement cache are also stored locally through device storage used by the App. Supported attachments are copied into App-controlled local storage when the platform provides a readable selected file.

This information is processed locally to provide Chronaya’s core functionality. The Developer does not receive, remotely access, or operate a cloud copy of your deadline records or attachments through Chronaya.

3. No Chronaya Account and No Record Synchronization

Chronaya does not require you to create an account, provide your name or email address, or sign in to a Developer-operated service.

The App does not synchronize your deadline records, attachments, settings, or backups to a Developer-operated server. Your Chronaya content remains on the device where it was created unless you manually export, share, open, or restore it using a feature you choose.

Google Play may require you to use your Google account for purchasing and restoring Lifetime Pro. Your Google account is managed by Google, not by Chronaya, and does not create a Chronaya account. Restore Purchases restores Lifetime Pro entitlement where available; it does not restore your deadline records, attachments, settings, or backup files.

4. How Local Information Is Used

Information stored in Chronaya is used to provide the features you request, including:

  • creating, displaying, editing, archiving, restoring, and deleting records;
  • sorting and grouping deadlines by urgency;
  • scheduling and managing local reminders;
  • opening attachments and user-saved links;
  • advancing recurring subscription dates;
  • calculating user-confirmed savings or avoided-payment summaries;
  • enforcing Free and Lifetime Pro feature limits;
  • creating and restoring local backup files; and
  • remembering App settings and preferences.

Chronaya does not use your local content for advertising, marketing profiles, behavioral profiling, automated decision-making, or sale to third parties.

5. Notifications and Device Permissions

Chronaya requests only the permissions needed for features you choose to use.

Notifications

Chronaya may request permission to display local notifications. Notification content is generated from information stored on your device. Chronaya does not use a remote push-notification server for deadline reminders.

You may deny or revoke notification permission in your device settings. The App remains usable without notification permission, but deadline reminders will not be displayed.

Exact alarms and scheduling

On supported Android versions, Chronaya may request access to schedule exact alarms so reminders can be delivered closer to the selected time. If exact-alarm access is unavailable, Chronaya uses the scheduling options made available by the operating system, which may be less precise.

Files, photos, and attachments

When you select an attachment, Chronaya accesses only the file or photo you choose through the operating system’s file-selection interface. Chronaya currently supports image and PDF attachments. Selected supported attachments are copied into App-controlled local storage where supported.

Chronaya manages the copied attachment stored inside the App. It does not manage or delete the original file you selected from another location.

Downloads and sharing

When you create a backup, Chronaya saves a ZIP file to a user-accessible location, such as Downloads/Chronaya on supported Android devices. When you choose to share a backup, the file is transferred to the app or service you select.

Permission names and behavior may vary by device, operating-system version, and platform.

6. Backups, Exports, and Sharing

Chronaya creates manual local ZIP backup files containing active and archived records plus readable App-managed attachments. Attachments that are missing, unreadable, outside Chronaya’s managed attachment storage, or unsupported may be skipped and reported as warnings.

A backup may contain sensitive personal, financial, identity-document, receipt, insurance, or household information. Chronaya does not automatically upload backup files to the Developer.

When you create, store, or share a backup:

  • a backup saved in a public or user-accessible folder may be accessible to anyone who can access your device or files;
  • a backup shared through email, cloud storage, messaging, or another app is handled under that third party’s privacy and security practices;
  • deleting data inside Chronaya does not delete backup copies that you previously exported or shared; and
  • exported Chronaya backup ZIP files are not protected by Chronaya-specific application-level encryption unless the App expressly states otherwise.

Chronaya validates supported backup structure, version, checksums, records, attachment references, and resource limits before import. A restore imports only compatible Chronaya backup content. Existing records with the same ID are skipped by default.

You are responsible for creating backups, choosing a secure storage location, retaining backup files, and protecting exported backup files. The Developer does not maintain a remote backup of your Chronaya records or attachments.

7. External Links and Other Apps

Chronaya allows you to open user-saved links, telephone numbers, attachments, exported backups, and shared files through compatible apps installed on your device. These actions are initiated by you.

Once another app or website is opened, its own privacy policy and terms apply. The Developer is not responsible for how third-party apps, websites, cloud-storage providers, messaging services, browsers, phone apps, or file viewers handle information.

8. Lifetime Pro and Google Play Billing

Lifetime Pro is available as a non-consumable, one-time in-app product through Google Play. It is not a subscription and does not automatically renew.

Google Play processes the payment and may collect payment details, purchase history, Google account identifiers, device information, tax information, and fraud-prevention information under Google’s own privacy policy and terms.

Chronaya communicates with Google Play services to:

  • display the current product price and availability;
  • start the purchase flow;
  • check purchase status reported by Google Play;
  • acknowledge or complete purchases when Google Play requires it;
  • grant or remove local Lifetime Pro access based on Google Play purchase state;
  • restore a previous Lifetime Pro purchase associated with the same Google Play account; and
  • refresh entitlement when Google Play reports no valid owned purchase, a refund, reversal, chargeback, fraud finding, or revocation.

For these purposes, Chronaya receives and processes limited purchase information made available by Google Play, such as the product identifier, purchase state, purchase token, acknowledgement state, purchase time, and entitlement status.

Chronaya does not receive your full payment-card details. Your deadline records and attachments are not included in Google Play purchase checks or restoration.

The current version does not use a Chronaya account, Developer-operated backend receipt validator, server-side fraud or revocation system, or cloud entitlement store. Entitlement is checked with Google Play on supported Android builds and cached locally on the device.

If you contact us about a purchase problem, you may choose to provide an order number or other transaction details. We use that information only to investigate and respond to your request.

9. Support Communications

Chronaya itself does not require your contact information. If you contact us by email or another support channel, we may receive:

  • your name and email address;
  • the content of your message;
  • files or screenshots you choose to send; and
  • purchase, App-version, operating-system, or device details you choose to provide for troubleshooting.

We use support communications only to respond to your request, troubleshoot problems, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and maintain necessary business records.

Support communications are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes, unless a longer period is required by law or necessary to resolve an active dispute.

Do not send sensitive identity documents, full payment-card details, passwords, or unnecessary personal information in support messages.

10. Advertising, Analytics, Tracking, and Crash Reporting

Chronaya does not include:

  • third-party advertising;
  • advertising identifiers used for ad targeting;
  • behavioral analytics;
  • cross-app tracking;
  • marketing profiles; or
  • third-party crash-reporting services.

If these practices change in a future version, this Privacy Policy and the applicable Google Play disclosures will be updated before the new processing begins.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

Information stored inside Chronaya

Your records, attachments, settings, and related local information remain on your device until you:

  • edit or delete them;
  • permanently delete an archived record;
  • use Chronaya’s clear-all-data function;
  • uninstall the App; or
  • erase or reset the device.

Chronaya removes App-managed attachments when they are no longer referenced and the relevant deletion operation completes successfully. Files stored outside Chronaya’s managed storage and backup files you exported separately are not automatically deleted.

On Android, platform app-data backup is disabled for Chronaya so deleted local records are not intentionally restored from Android app backup after uninstalling and reinstalling the App. This also means you should not rely on Android app-data backup as your Chronaya backup. Device-manufacturer behavior, future operating-system behavior, and third-party backup tools may vary.

Google Play purchase records

Google retains purchase and payment records under its own privacy policy, terms, retention rules, and legal obligations. Chronaya may retain local entitlement information on your device so Lifetime Pro remains available between App launches.

Support records

You may request deletion of support communications by contacting us. We will delete them when reasonably possible unless retention is required by law, necessary to protect legal rights, or required to resolve an active matter.

12. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information that we actually receive for the following reasons:

  • Performance of a contract: to provide Google Play purchase checks, Lifetime Pro access, purchase restoration, and requested support.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure purchase entitlements, prevent fraud or abuse, troubleshoot problems, and protect the App and its users.
  • Legal obligations: to comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, law-enforcement, and other applicable legal requirements.
  • Consent or user direction: when you voluntarily send information to support, share a backup, or open a third-party app or service.

Your deadline records and attachments are processed locally on your device and are not collected by the Developer through Chronaya.

13. Security

Chronaya reduces cloud-related exposure by storing deadline records and attachments locally and by not operating cloud synchronization for that content.

No storage method is completely secure. Chronaya does not claim application-level encryption for its local SQLite database, App-managed attachments, or exported backup ZIP files unless the App expressly states otherwise. Protection also depends on your device security, operating-system protections, screen lock, installed apps, file-access settings, and backup practices.

You should:

  • use a secure device lock;
  • keep your operating system updated;
  • avoid storing unnecessary highly sensitive documents;
  • protect exported backup files; and
  • remove data before selling, transferring, or disposing of your device.

14. Children’s Privacy

Chronaya is a general-purpose productivity application and is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through Chronaya.

A parent or legal guardian should supervise a child’s use of the App, especially when records or attachments may contain identity, financial, insurance, travel, or household information.

15. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Because Chronaya does not maintain a Developer-operated account or database containing your deadline records and attachments, the Developer generally cannot view, retrieve, correct, export, or delete that locally stored content for you.

You can manage local information directly through the App by editing records, deleting records, clearing local data, exporting backups, or uninstalling the App.

Depending on where you live, you may have privacy rights concerning information the Developer actually holds, such as support communications or purchase-support records. These rights may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or the right to complain to a competent data-protection authority.

To exercise an applicable right, contact us using the details below.

16. International Data Processing

Chronaya does not transfer your locally stored deadline records or attachments to Developer-operated servers.

Google Play and any third-party app or service you deliberately use may process information in countries other than your own under their respective privacy policies and legal safeguards.

If you contact us, your email or support provider may also process the information in other countries.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Chronaya, applicable law, Google Play requirements, or our data-handling practices change.

The updated version will show a revised “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate method, such as an in-app notice, Google Play listing, release notes, or the website where this policy is published.
